A team from Porter Novelli is on the ground in Cannes, France, during the 57th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, tracking, measuring and analyzing the online conversations taking place during the annual communications awards competition. Our team is blogging, tweeting and publishing trending topics as well as key metrics and insights each day throughout the course of the Festival on our dedicated blog, Conversations@Cannes,
In addition to providing sentiment analysis, Julie Winskie, president, global clients, Porter Novelli, and Nandita Lakshmanan, CEO of The PRactice Porter Novelli (India), both served as jurors in the public relations category. Their judging wrapped up today and the winners will be announced this evening at the first awards gala of the week.
At a press conference this morning, the jury described the judging as “wake up call” for the industry, as advertising agencies are claiming authority in the PR category. The judges found areas such as launches and integrated campaigns very compelling, but traditional PR entries extremely underwhelming.
